Greenstede quilters
We are a friendly group of Quilters/Patchworkers in the ancient town of East Grinstead, West Sussex, close to the Ashdown Forest. We meet regularly to share our passion for sewing and to further our knowledge of all things quilt related. If you love quilting and are interested in learning new skills and meeting like-minded people, we'd love to welcome you.

Greenstede Quilters History
The group was started in 1982 by a small group of ladies locally who shared an interest in quilting and were part of a growing band of others nationwide, who had formed a National Guild in 1979, The Quilters Guild. The name Greenstede is an old name for East Grinstead .Several current members were part of that original group. We have changed our meetings venue several times since those early days and the group has increased in size. We now can accomodate 45 members.Quilting nationally has had a huge revival of interest and there are many local groups in all areas. Large trade shows and exhibitions are held all over the country and our members enjoy visiting these, as well as the many local events. The group is affiliated to The Quilters Guild of the British Isles www.quiltersguild.org.uk and enjoy benefits from this.
